We eat raw as well as cooked food. Fruits and some vegetables are eaten raw. They must be washed well before eating so that they are free from dust and germs. Other foodstuffs are cooked before eating. Some of them, such as rice and potatoes are boiled.
Purees are fried. Meat is usually roasted to make kabab. Cooking makes the food soft, tasty and digestible. It also kills germs.
1) Do not throw away the water in which gram or vegetables are soaked, as it contains vitamins.
2) Do not wash vegetables and fruits after cutting them.
3) While boiling take just enough water so that the boiled water containing nutrients need not be thrown.
